Died on 17 June 2020 in the Elderwood at Liverpool, NY Skilled Nursing Home from complications of a lengthy illness. A private funeral service for family will be held at Bartolomeo and Perotto Funeral Home in Rochester, NY, followed by internment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Theresa was born on 17 January 1930 in Rochester to Andrea Caruso and Lucia Borelli Caruso.
She was a former teacher at the Onondaga-Madison BOCES in Syracuse, NY, where she taught Cosmetology for many years. She also served as a teacher representative on the Onondaga-Madison BOCES Board of Directors. In addition to becoming a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary's Church in Minoa, NY, Theresa was a respected Fashion Consultant and Beauty Pageant Judge in Syracuse. She was a fabulous Italian cook and she loved European travels, during which she acquired an enduring love of Fine Art and Haute Cuisine. Early on in her accomplished life, she was a Soprano in the Rochester Oratorio Society, as well as a student of 1940's films following college studies and a baccalaureate.
Theresa is survived by her loving husband Carl P. Ellerman, her beloved daughter Deborah Cubiotti Scibetta, her beloved son Joseph Cubiotti, three grandchildren Lisa Marie Ruggiera, Michael Rogers Joseph Rogers;, six great grandchildren, two nieces, and five nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Joseph Caruso and sisters Mary Rosetti and Madeline Maurizio. Theresa is deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
