Tom was born on April 14, 1946 in Rochester, NY to Sam Margaret. He grew up on Oak Street and Gayla Drive and attended Jefferson High School and went on to Rochester School of Machine Shorthand. He eventually worked as a child protective advocate which had him testifying to the NY Senate and US Congress. He was also a Senior Investigator for the DA's office.
The family Patriarch and a godfather to many, Tom always enjoyed Sunday dinner, Christmas, family phone calls. In his spare time, he played softball and raquetball, and was a member of Aralen and the downtown and Elmgrove YMCA. He participated in the NY Police Olympics.
Tom was an avid baseball fan, including being a Red Wings season ticket holder for more than 20 years, and a devout NY Yankees fan - even attending training camp, games, and the World Series. Tom also was a Notre Dame football fan. Several of his friends are professional baseball umpires.
Tom liked to travel, including taking trips to Europe and multiple trips to Calgary to visit his sister and her family. A child at heart, Tom enjoyed children's movies, Mickey Mouse, and was always ready to crack a joke or tell a funny story.
Family and friends would best describe Tom as someone who was very outgoing and generous. Tom was an amazing caregiver, mentor, teacher and friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
