Bill was a real country boy. He worked on a farm, putting up the hay and milking cows. He loved guns, hunting and fishing. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.
In school, one of his passions was football. One day on the way home from football practice he had an unfortunate accident. When he was 14 he was hit by a drunk driver while walking his bike home, losing his right leg above the knee as a result. Despite this, he never gave in and lived a very good and productive life.
Bill attained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Alfred College and spent many years after at Caldwell Manufacturing as a Cost Accountant. At the age of 31 he was married and eventually had 2 sons, Will and Adam. He was a huge dog-lover and had many over the years. His life-long friends and fur buddies, Bummer, Dusty Buddy graced the halls of his home for many years.
Bill was that guy that was always rough-housing with his friends, and he also spent a lot of time with his friends canoeing in the Adirondacks. He was a fan of many things, including: the Buffalo Bills, Star Wars, Star Trek, classic rock and sci-fi and fantasy novels.
One funny memory that he would often share was the night he decided to park his white Impala under a cherry tree... in the morning his car magically had pink-polka dots!
Come Thanksgiving Bill loved to get together with his family in Churchville. During the holidays, he would don his red hat and play Santa.
Bill was an honest man who worked hard for everything he had. He had a great laugh, which you might have heard after he clunked you on the back of the head with his class ring to get your attention! He is also described at stoic, demanding, a staunch defender and stubborn, but always supportive.
