Irondequoit: Sunday January 25, 2009 She is survived by her older sister, Rose Marie Scarpulla of Toms River, NJ; sisters-in-law, Marie (DeSantis) Vali of Gates and Elizabeth (Ange) DeSantis of Henrietta; children, Charles (Kathleen Neary) DeSantis of Chicago, Illinois; Rosemarie (Franklin) Becker and Donna (Robert) Kress, both of Greece; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; as well as dear friends.
History
Born in 1922, Yolanda was a native of New York City where she met her future husband. A graduate of Textile High School in downtown Manhattan, Yolanda plied her craft in the custom millinery trade on Madison Avenue in New York City. Upon Joseph's return from Europe after WWII, they were married in New York City in 1946 and settled in Rochester, New York where they built their life together. While raising her three children, Yolanda was active in civic, volunteer and church groups. She was a member and president of St. Andrew Parochial School Mothers' Club, President of the New York State Chapter of the Italian American War Veterans Auxiliary, a charter member of the Christ the King senior group, and a long-standing member of the Legion of Mary. Yolanda also performed volunteer work for the Red Cross and the Irondequoit Fourth of July celebration

BARTOLOMEO PEROTTO Funeral Home, Inc. 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd.) where family and friends may call Monday, January 26 from 4-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:30 AM in the chapel at St. Ann's Home, (1500 Portland Avenue.) Entombment will follow at White Haven Memorial Park in Pittsford.
