Amy Ann (Hearn) Dewyea

Passed away on October 27, 2026, at age 79. Predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, Herbert “Larry” Dewyea; parents William Raymond “Bill” & Doris Ellen Hearn. Amy is survived by her children, Colin (Mary) Dewyea, Justin (Malia) Dewyea, & Drake (Jennifer) Dewyea; grandchildren, Jacob Dewyea, Madelyn Dewyea, Jack Dewyea, Lucas Dewyea, Evan Dewyea, Samuel Dewyea, & Giovanna Dewyea; siblings, Laura (Brad) Nitzsche, Michael (Jody) Hearn, Kate (Tad) Ingram, & Patrick Hearn; many nieces & nephews; lifelong friends, Karen Bond, Linda Edstrom, & Jeanne Hearn.

Amy was born in Amsterdam, NY on November 25, 1947. She spent most of her life in New Jersey and New York, growing up with her parents and four siblings.

Amy earned her degree at Rosary Hill College prior to becoming an art teacher. She taught elementary school art for over 30 years in the Greece Central School District before retiring.

Amy enjoyed reading, baking, antiquing, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was also a devout Catholic and attended church regularly.

Amy’s life story will be shared during visitation on Sunday, November 1st from 11 am – 2 pm at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane, 14626. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 2nd at 10:30 am at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd., 14612. Amy will be laid to rest in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
