Gates — Our beloved Mother, Sister, Gram, and GiGi passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026. Anita is survived by her children, Christine (Daniel) Barone-Georger and Richard J. (Beth Nielsen) Barone, Jr.; sister, Maria Pellegrino; grandchildren, Richard J. Barone, III (fiancé Carla Chriselle), Rachel (Michael) Visca, Stephen Georger, Mark (Andrea) Georger; great-grandchildren, Madelyn Visca, Gavin Visca, Samantha Georger, Gabriella Georger, and Olivia Georger; brother-in-law, Russell (Barbara) Barone; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. A special thank you to Lisa Skotnicki for her friendship and care of Anita the past few years. Anita was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Richard Barone, Sr. in 2019.

Anita’s life story will be shared during her visitation, Friday, July 31, 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 & Long Pond Rd.). Her funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 1, 10 AM at St Theodore’s Church, 168 Spencerport Rd., immediately followed by her interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105, in Anita’s memory.

Anita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Family was the center of her world. She enjoyed celebrating every milestone, was a great listener, and a trusted source of wisdom who was there to provide guidance and comfort every sorrow.

The kitchen was the heart of her home, where family and friends gathered to enjoy delicious family recipes prepared with love. She believed every meal was an opportunity to create memories and strengthen family traditions and bonds.

Our family would like to express gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and caregivers who cared for her throughout her illness. We are sincerely thankful for the dignity, respect, and care provided during her final journey.

Though we mourn her passing, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy of love that will remain in our hearts forever. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
