Anthony Lombardo
January 3, 1933 ~ April 29, 2013

On 4/29/13 at age 80. Tony was predeceased by his wife, Loretta C. (Blazejeski) Lombardo; mother, Mary (Derrico); father, Matthew Lombardo; brothers, Mike and Victor; sisters, Mary, Rachel and Lena. Tony is survived by his loving daughter, Sue; brothers, Frank, Andy and Larry; sister, Martha; as well as many nieces and nephews. Tony was a veteran of the Army, where he met his wife of 59 years, Loretta; he worked at Kodak for 35 years. More than anything else, Tony will be remembered for his commitment and devotion to his family, remaining concerned for their safety and well being to the very end. He will be remembered and missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Funeral services and burial were held at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Tony's memory.
Anthony met his wife, Loretta, while serving in the Army at Fort Bragg, NC. Anthony was a cook and Loretta served as a nurse. Their meeting came about because of Anthony's lack of dietary requirements of different patients. Lorette as quick to "teach" Anthony what he needed to know. He was immediately smitten with Loretta. He shared with members of his platoon on the day they met that "I'm going to marry that girl".
Anthony's family and friends would best describe him as resourceful, hard-working, being a mentor, having a sense of humor, as generous, dedicated, romantic, loving, orderly, proud, and being a good story teller. He led by his example.
His hobbies included following the St. Louis Cardinals and Cleveland Browns. Stan Musial and Otto Graham were idols of his. He was a WWII history buff, liked golfing, and taking trips to the casino. Anthony was faith filled and often prayed to St. Jude.
Anthony was an excellent provider and loving dad. He always would do things the right way. He will be greatly missed by everyone.
