Anthony S. Mannillo

June 8, 1935 ~ February 18, 2025

Born in: Rochester, NY
Resided in: Hilton, NY

Anthony “Tony” Mannillo, 89, of Hilton, New York, passed away suddenly on February 18, 2025, surrounded by loving family.

Tony was born June 8, 1935, in Rochester, New York, the son of Carl and Rose Mannillo.

Tony was known for his warm smile, easy laugh, and unending devotion to his family. He was loved and admired by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Dedicated to his country, Tony joined the Army in 1953 and served until he was honorably discharged following his service in the Korean War. Tony often recalled being told by his superior upon his assignment to Greenland that he “would find a woman behind every tree”. He arrived in Greenland to find no trees.

Tony worked as a Dispatcher and Bus Driver for the Rochester City School District. He was adored by the students on his bus and greatly missed upon his retirement.

Cars were a lifelong hobby and passion of Tony’s. In the last several years, he and his son could often be found on weekends carefully restoring his 1931 Slant Window Four-Door Model A.

An avid fisherman, Tony traveled for many years with his family to the Thousand Islands, New York for an annual fishing trip. Tony could always be sure to come home with a fish, whether it be on his pole or discreetly placed in his pocket by his grandsons.

A well-lived life like Tony’s is impossible to distill into a few short paragraphs and anecdotes. To put it simply, he was deeply loved, he will be greatly missed, and his memory will be cherished by those he left behind.

Tony is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Stephanie; cat, Sammi; children, Tony (Lisa) Mannillo, Ann Marie (Joe Romeo) DiNoto, and Rosemarie (Ray) Arnold; grandchildren, Raymond (Rachael) Arnold, Jennifer Richards, A.J. DiNoto, Nicholas (Ashley) Arnold, Cassandra (Jordan) Zalar, Olivia DiNoto, Melanie (Mike) Marmo, Melissa (Shawn Delano) Krause, Britany (Matt) Wixom, and Bobby Krause; and great-grandchildren, Elliana Arnold, Raymond Arnold, Addison Arnold, Nicholas Arnold, Caroline Zalar, Gianna Marmo, Joey Marmo, Rowan Delano, Wyatt Delano, Flynn Wixom, Collette Wixom, Corinne Wixom, and Lilly Krause; sister, Louise (Benny) Colella; sister-in-law, Suzanne VanHove; and brothers-in-law Raymond (Barbara) Kelley and Steven (Margaret) Kelley.

He is preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Olivia (Colapietro) Mannillo; brothers, Eugene, Vincent, Joseph, and Carl Mannillo; sisters, Virginia Mammarella, Shirley Pezzulo, Angelina Masters, and Janie Giardino.
