My sincere and deep felt condolences to Tony’s family. I worked for Tony at St. Joe Paper Company back in the 1980’s and we became good friends and I often worked for him on weekends with his landscaping business. He was always smiling and making everyone laugh. I lost touch when I moved from Rochester to the Clearwater area of Florida, however, I often wondered how he was doing and wished we could have touched base. Tony was a very grounded and decent man who inspired many and will live on in our memories. I truly appreciated his friendship and I enjoyed watching the beautiful video tribute to his life. May God Bless his family and his enduring memory.
My prayers are with you. Tony taught me much about gardening, and was eager to share the fruits of his garden. Today I read a quote from Pope Francis who is suggesting that we add an 8th Spiritual and Corporal work of Mercy: “As a spiritual work of mercy, care for our common home calls for a grateful contemplation of God’s world which allows us to discover in each thing a teaching which God wishes to hand on to us.
As a corporal work of mercy, care for our common home requires simple daily gestures which break with the logic of violence, exploitation and selfishness.” I immediately thought of Tony who loved this earth and helped all of us to appreciate its beauty and awesomeness. Our world and our lives are better because of him and his care for God’s creation. God bless.
Michelle, we know this has been a long and sad journey for you and your entire family. Our prayers are with all of you. Your Dad was such a gentle soul, who truly cared about both his family and friends. We always enjoyed chatting with him at get togethers and will always remember his great smile and that dynamic personality. He was a very loving person and everyone who knew him is going to miss him so very much.
Tony was a wonderful man!
I find comfort knowing he is with our beautiful Sharon.
Praying that Michelle and Erica find strength. Such a loss for all of us. UNTIL we meet again dear Tartaglia’s…RIP
