Avia “Cheeckie” Dilworth, 57, passed away on August 26, 2025, in Rochester, New York. Born on December 28, 1967, in the same city she called home throughout her life, Avia brought joy and warmth to all who knew her.

A proud graduate of John Marshall High School in Rochester, Avia carried her vibrant spirit into every chapter of her life. Known affectionately as “Cheeckie,” she was the heart of every gathering-always smiling, always dancing, and always surrounded by music. Her energy was infectious, and her presence lit up any room she entered. Avia’s love for her family was unwavering.

She is remembered by her Mother, Dorethea Dilworth; her Wife and life partner, Alison Mckoy; her children, Kiara Dilworth and Keyon Dilworth; and her cherished grandchildren: Kahleil Pritchett, Zuri Townsend, and Kenslee Dilworth. She also leaves behind her Brother Willie Dilworth, along with Nieces, a Nephew, and many dear family and friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and laughter.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Willie Dilworth, and her Brother Bruce Dilworth.

Avia’s legacy is one of joy-of’ music that filled the air when she danced and of love that filled the hearts of those around her. Her memory will continue to live on through the stories shared by those who knew and loved her.

Avia’s life story will be shared during her visitation on Friday, September 5, 11:00AM – 1:00PM, at the funeral home (1411 Vintage Lane, Rochester 14626); her homegoing service will immediately follow calling hours, beginning at 1:00PM.
