There are people you meet in life who make you feel special. They can fill any room they are in with positive vibrations. Barb Bottoni was one of those who could do it with ease. Pat and I were very sad to learn that she had passed away. The picnics at the cottage won’t be the same without her! We will miss her and extend to her family our sympathy. A remarkable lady has passed away; however, she will remain vibrant in our memory.
I worked with Barb for many years until she retired from Hoover Drive Middle School. The school was filled with over 800 6th,7th,and 8th graders. I loved going to the library and looking at Barb looking over her glasses with one of “you got to be kidding me” looks. We had a lot of laughs at Hoover. One of my fondest memory is Barb and Dody putting my family to work in the 1991 Ice Storm. My family went with Dody to the kitchen. Barb and I went to help the elderly women with showers, Soap and water was flying everywhere. Later in my life, Barb took charge again and organized a fund raiser for my lung transplant. She was beautiful women and my guardian angel. I will miss her dearly!
Barb,
You are a special lady who touched the lives of all you met. We always enjoyed spending time with you at family events and will miss you dearly. May your light shine eternally.
Barb – as long as I can remember, you’ve been a part of my life. You were there for every milestone – just like family should be. I’m so proud my kids call you ‘Grandma’, they’re lucky members of a special club. I talked my way out of a ticket on Sunday…pretty sure you were helping me out. You will be so very missed.
Grandma Barbara – we miss you very much, because you always showered us with hugs and kisses and made us feel very special when we came to Rochester. We will always remember how much fun you were. Love Jackson & Audrey
To the Bottoni Family: Our deepest sympathies go out to the entire family at such a sad time. Barb was the most passionate and energetic lady we have ever met. She had a way of making everyone feel special and will truly be missed. A life well lived.
We loved when you watched us because you made us laugh and your laugh made us smile too. Working on my cursive homework with you was fun. We love you Grandma Barb.
Gram, I will forever remember our days at the beach, holiday ice skating shows and
dinners at Perkins. The memories and times we shared will forever be in my heart. I see a lot of you in myself and for that I will always be truly honored. I love you.
Gram,
You were the strongest person I know. I only hope to be as strong as you. From the time I was little until now, my heart skipped a beat with excitement each time I saw you. I will cherish every moment we spent together as special memories. I am so fortunate to have been able to see that same excitement in my girls eyes each time they saw you. You touched our hearts more than words will ever be able to express. I love you.
Barb you are going to be missed by us and so many people. Your smile and Irish eyes would light up any room. You have been especially wonderful to Sue and I and our children. You treated us like your very own. Your son is like my little brother and Martha is so special also like my sister. The love you have shown us will never be forgotten. Your memory forever will be shared in our household. Rest in peace Barb. May the angels bring you to our Saviour and your true love Tom.– Greg, Sue Hyatt
Barb was one of the most lively and spirited people I have had the pleasure of knowing. Thinking of her brings a smile to my face, and I will certainly miss her. My sincerest sympathies to all her family and friends.
