Rochester, NY 14626 in Barbara's memory. Barbara was born in Rochester to parents Eric and Melva Redshaw and was raised on the family farms in Brockport and Kendall, NY. Barbara spent much of her childhood on the family farm with her brother Ron and her cousins playing and riding horses. Her family enjoyed spending time together camping in Canada. In her teen years her and her brother Ron liked to frequent the soda shop and go out dancing with friends. Barbara started as a Bank Teller for Lincoln Rochester Bank and worked her way up to head Teller. She eventually was employed by Hilton Central Schools where she worked for many years as Clerk, Typist and finally as Guidance Office Secretary. Barbara was married for 59 years and was passionate about her marriage to Jack. They met at Lincoln National Bank in downtown Rochester, NY. Barbara and Jack married on June 23, 1956 at Irondequoit Presbyterian Church. They had 2 sons, Brad and Doug, and 2 daughter-in-laws, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was actively involved in the Eastern Star, Starlight Chapter and she was a Scout Den Leader while her sons Brad and Doug were growing up. She was a loving and supportive mother and grandmother. Any time that her family was together she was most happy. Barbara loved going to Drum Bugle Corp competitions with her husband Jack. Later on, both sons became involved playing lead horn in the Greece Cadets, U.S. Marine Corp Commandants, St. Joe's, Empire Statesman, and Hawthorne Caballeros. Barbara loved to cruise and traveled to Hawaii and spent several winters in Myrtle Beach. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and always looked forward to horseback riding, camping and golfing. She loved camping at Hamlin Beach and the Thousand Islands and loved family clambakes. Her Erie Canal trip with Jeanne Ron Begy was memorable. She also enjoyed games of chance, especially scratch off tickets and playing the slots at the casino (where she frequently won!). Barbara also enjoyed knitting and the mental challenge of finishing crossword puzzles. Barbara enjoyed lighthouses. In a romantic way she equated a light house with a beacon of hope. Her music taste included Gospel, Religious and old Country Music selections. She was known by family and friends as thoughtful, thorough, very social and she possessed a great memory of past life events.
