Dear Mrs. Morgan and family,
I just learned Mr. Morgan has passed. My heart is so heavy.
This world has lost a caring, kind, thoughtful, selfless man.
I have so many fond memories of him including how he used to wave to me as we often crossed paths while I was walking back and forth to high school, and he was going to or coming from the firehouse on Paddy Hill.
Recently, I had the privilege to teach your granddaughter, Lydia, whose smile lights up a room like her grandfather’s smile always did.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My earliest memories of Bud would have been at the Barnard Christmas parties. He was Santa and I was a little girl filled with anticipation. I was probably in high school or college before I pieced together who was under the Santa suit. When I was older we worked the Barnard Carnival together. My dad, Mike Heberger, behind the Italian sausage grill and Bud working the hot dogs. Maybe what I remember most about Bud is that people always smiled when he was around. He always had a joke, wanted to hear a story, and was happy to see me and my sister. And excellent hugs. Bud was a great hugger.
I sent Bud a post card when I went to Europe in high school with my Girl Scout troop. I wrote it in German as a joke and promised to translate it at the next Barnard Carnival. The trip was in August so he kept that post card for 11 months before he knew what it said.
Morgan family, I hope your hurting hearts are comforted to know how much Bud meant to so many people in the Barnard family and beyond. He’s one of a kind and remembering him will always bring a smile to my face and joy to my heart.
Mrs. Morgan and family, I was so sorry to see of Mr. Morgans passing. Many fond memories growing up with your family at carnival time and thru the fire department. I will never forget when I was older I had a car accident by wegmans Latta Rd and I went into shock, and whose face did I see telling me its okay Charlie I got you, but Mr. Morgans. He stayed with me until I was okay, telling me I was one of his to take care of. I will always be grateful. Thoughts and prayers to all of you during this difficult time.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Jane and your family. Thank you Bud for your service to the community. I know that smile brought laughs to a lot of us during different occasions weather happy ones or sad ones you were always there for us. May you now rest in piece. Beautiful memories for your family and friends to always remember.
My husband, Mark and I both worked with Bud at Kodak. We had a lot of laughs together. Once you were a friend of Buds, you remained his friend. We reconnected years later when I taught his grandchildren at New Day. How nice it was seeing him in them. Our prayers and thoughts to Jane and family. He was one of the good guys!
I’m very sorry for your loss. Bud was friends with my parents. I only met Bud once…it was when he came to my parents’ house dressed as Santa to visit my Dad who was battling cancer. Bud put a big smile on my Dad’s face and made him laugh. I’ll never forget that moment. My prayers are with your family.
Bud will always be “Santa” to me! I remember attending the Barnard Christmas parties every year and anxiously awaiting his entrance… full of energy and the jingle bells that shook so loudly on his wrist. Although we spent a lot of time at Barnard events when I was little, I don’t ever remember meeting him as himself… only as Santa at the Christmas party. Many years later, I was introduced to him at a Wegmans event that he attended with his daughter, Linda. When he told me he knew my dad from the fire department, I exclaimed, “Santa!” There was no mistaking the rosy cheeks, twinkling blue eyes and the jovial voice and laugh. He brought so much joy to the kids of the fire department all those years, and I will always remember those parties fondly.
It’s no surprise to hear that family traditions were so important to Bud, considering the role he played at the Barnard Christmas party that was a tradition for so many of us. Now as a parent myself, I’m happy to say that we have found a very special “helper Santa” for my kids to visit every year for our own tradition.
Rest in peace, Mr. Morgan. My condolences to all of his family and friends.
Thoughts and prayers to Bud’s family. We will always remember him as a calming voice in a very stressful situation.
In the summer of 1990 we lived On Floren dr., around the corner from Bud. Our 15 month old was in her high chair pitching a fit one minute and turning blue the next. After a frantic call to 911, Bud came running through the back yard as several emergency vehicles pulled up in front of the house. Bud being the first one in Helped my husband ( who knew Bud from Braddocks) get our daughter out of the high chair and breathing again. After discussing her recent behavior he assured us that it was probably a case of a bad temper and her holding her breath to get her own way. I believe he had seen this with one of his own children. His calm demeanor and reassurance will always be a part of our memories.
So very sorry for your loss.
