So many memories…..Bette, in the 40’s and 50’s you took me out and showed me fun and games that I would have never known. You took me to Charlotte and showed me how to swim, get silly and have ice cream. At Christmas you always gave me fun gifts…among them a beautiful red wagon that I will never forget. Many times with Janet you were our playmate. As a child I looked up to you, adored your life and wished to be with you. You represented love, attention and fun. I wonder how many god-children you will have now that you are in heaven. I left Rochester for some years but you never left my heart. God Bless.
You were my godmother, and my role model for generosity, hospitality, perseverence, and the importance of extended family. Although you sometimes expressed your loneliness over the years, you taught me that it was possible to be single, and yet fulfilled. Then, when you married at the unlikely age of 87, you showed me that 50 wasn’t too old to fall in love. Thank you for the treasured memories of a lifetime of Sundays surrounded by family, happy holidays, whacky adventures and lessons about doing things right (“You dope!”). You will be very much missed.

Dear Aunt Bette,
You were my godmother, and my role model for generosity, hospitality, perseverence, and the importance of extended family.
To know you was to love you!
What I would give for just one more Aunt Bette kiss. Always in all of our hearts. We love you, Aunt Bets!
