She is predeceased by her parents, Morris Margaret (Nassar) Tannous.
History
Carol is survived by her beloved sister, Joan Tannous (John Siamo) Zeppetella, both of whom gave Carol the utmost love and care. In addition, Carol is survived by her aunt, Freda (Edward, deceased) Nassar; several aunts, uncles, cousins friends. She also leaves behind her loving cat, Habebe.
Services
Carol's visitation will be held 2-8PM on Sunday at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Ln (between Rte 390 Long Pond Rd). Her prayer service will be held 9AM on Monday at the funeral home, Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 4100 Lyell Rd. Entombment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Additional Information
Carol was loved by all who were blessed to have met her. Her smile was contagious and her personality, magnetic. Carol worked at Wilson's Corner Grocery on Arnett Blvd Main St. McCurdy Co. while a young adult. She attended St. Augustine Elementary School Our Lady of Mercy High School. Carol attended RIT College for Retailing. In 1978, Carol purchased Wilson Grocery and it became the social center for the entire 19th Ward, including Section Three of the Rochester Police Department. Carol was awarded the 19th Ward Business Association's Merchant of the Year in 1985. Wilson Grocery was sold in 1987 and Carol began her fabulous career with Wegmans as manager of various departments in several stores, including Lyell Avenue where she finally retired after 23 years of service in 2010. She also was director of the United Way Campaign for the Lyell Avenue store. Carol captured many hearts and made life long, wonderful friends during her tenure with Wegmans. Customers found Carol engaging always welcoming. The staff meant the world to Carol they all had a special place in her heart. She will be sorely missed by many people. Her motto " Have a Swell Day" is the title of her upcoming book.
