June (Shales) Schirmer Relation to Deceased: family friend It was so shocking to hear of Cathy’s passing. She will always be remembered as such a cheerful and kind person. I remember so many fun times at the pool on French Rd. when I was little and how she always made my sisters and me feel so much a part of the family. Later on when my boys were little she would make it a point to call me to see if I wanted tickets to the children’s theatre presentations. But that was Cathy – always thinking of others. My heart goes out to all the Whalens and extended family members. The butterfly emerges from its silken shell- Reborn, it arises, no longer bound to earth. Free at last, the butterfly glides to heights unknown before. So do our loved ones find a beautiful release as, earthbound no more, they leave our sight and joyfully rise to a garden of matchless beauty, a place of light and peace. -Evelyn Phillips
