I only was able to know you through the spirit of love I saw living in the heart of your sweet Mary Ann and daughters. Through that love I also know you were a fun loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. My thoughts and prayers are with all of your family and friends. While I know that your passing has left them all broken hearted, I know that love you gave them will help them through this time and sustain them until you all meet again.
So Sorry to hear of Charlie’s passing. God must have needed him to help cheer up sad souls and make them laugh on the other side. He always made me laugh and was a great guy to work with and know. When I was a rookie on the RFD, we caught a house fire together. We were the 1st company in.Charlie was the driver and I was the hydrant man and it was winter with a lot of heavy snow. I had to shovel out the “plug” to get us water. After back at the fire house he praised me for the great job I had done by saying “kid you looked like a back hoe on speed & steroids”. He was always giving encouragement & praise. My deepest sympathy and condolences. What a great loss for all of your family & all of his friends. Chuck will surely be missed by all.
We are so happy to have had the chance to meet Chuck. Such a sincere, helpful man. We wish we could have gotten to know him better.
Our prayers are with all of you!
We are so very sorry to hear about Chuck’s sudden passing. Our family has so many good memories of the good times we all shared over the years on the soccer field sidelines and travelling with the girls to all those soccer tournaments. Memories that will stay with us forever. Please know that your family will be in our thoughts and prayers throughout this very sad time.
News of Butch’s passing shocked and saddened me. As teenagers Butch and me were close. I remember going ice skating and movies together. He was always kind to everybody he knew. He was a strong guy even bearing the weight of his illness. I know that God took Butch to help fight fires in heaven in a revitalized, strong and healthy body. If anyone was up to the task it is Butch. Rest in peace dear cousin.
I am so thankful to have had you in my life! Thank you for being the best grandpa that God could have blessed me with. I thank you for everything you have taught your amazing grandson who is now the best husband and daddy! I’m glad you got to FaceTime and see Christian, though I wish you were here to watch him grow up. He will know his great grandpa and now has an amazing angel watching over him. We love you so much!
We are so saddened to hear of Chuck’s passing- we have such fun memories of Chuck and your whole family during those great “soccer” years with our girls. You have many, many more memories to help you through this difficult time. Know we are praying for you all.
I love you Dad… I wish I could have had just a little more time.. I know you are now free from all the sickness, for that I am grateful. Rest easy, we got this from here.
RIP to my brother in law Charlie “Chuck” Schmidt. A Navy vet, career firefighter, husband, father & grandfather. A man who was not hesitant to work 2 jobs to support his family…a rare breed and a true man. Thank you for all you did for me…thank you for what you gave my sister and nieces. So much of who I am now, I learned from your example and mentoring. We all grieve your passing, but honor you and celebrate your life. We are thankful you are now at peace, with our Lord and receiving your just rewards…healthy and in your prime once again, always watching over your family. We are thankful for the time we had you in our lives. RIP Chuck and thanks again for everything…
