The butterfly emerges from its silken shell- Reborn, it arises, no longer bound to earth. Free at last, the butterfly glides to heights unknown before. 6. Jaroslaw Krupa Relation to Deceased: Acquaintance To Dave ‘s Family:My business dealing with Dave many years ago was one with fond memories.Having met his son ‘s and wonderfully wife, I extend my deepest sympathies. Sincerely,Mr.Jaroslaw Krupa. Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow I am the diamond’s glint on snow, I am the sunlight on ripening grain, I am the gentle autumn’s rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die.

  7. Fellow Officers of ARPALER “The Final Inspection” The policeman stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining. Just as brightly as his brass. “Step forward now, policeman. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My church have you been true?” The policeman squared his shoulders and said, “No, Lord, I guess I ain’t, Because those of us who carry badges can’t always be a saint. I’ve had to work most Sundays, and at times my talk was rough, and sometimes I’ve been violent, Because the streets are awfully tough. But I never took a penny, That wasn’t mine to keep…. Though I worked a lot of overtime When the bills got just too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I’ve wept unmanly tears. I know I don’t deserve a place Among the people here. They never wanted me around Except to calm their fear. If you’ve a place for me here, Lord, It needn’t be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don’t…..I’ll understand. There was silence all around the throne Where the saints had often trod. As the policeman waited quietly, For the judgment of his God. “Step forward now, policeman, You’ve borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on Heaven’s streets, You’ve done your time in hell.”

  8. Bob Sevio Relation to Deceased: Friend from long ago Dave was a very good friend to my brother Jim Sevio when they were on the police force together. I also came to know Dave and am grateful to have had that opportunity. I have thought about his friendship with my brother many times over the years. I send my deepest sympathy to his family and friends. I think no matter where you stray, That I shall go with you a way. Though you may wander sweeter lands, You will not forget my hands, Nor yet the way I held my head Nor the tremulous things I said. You will still see me, small and white And smiling, in the secret night, And feel my arms about you when The day comes fluttering back again. I think, no matter where you be, You’ll hold me in your memory And keep my image there without me, By telling later loves about me. Dorothy Parker
