David R. Martin

Born in: Blossburg, PA
Resided in: Pittsford, NY

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Robert Martin, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, on March 14, 2025. He was 87 years old and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Dave was predeceased by his parents, David and Helen, and his son, David. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra; his daughter Michele; his son Douglas (Michelle); and his daughter-in-law Lynn. He was a proud grandfather to Heather, Michael (Allie), Adam, Rebecca, Matthew, and Emma. He also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Wyatt.

Throughout his life, Dave was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. His presence will forever be in the hearts of those who loved him.

After retiring from a career at Kodak, Dave found joy and purpose as a dedicated school bus driver for 17 years. Those years became the happiest of his life, as he formed bonds with the students he drove each day, caring for them as if they were his own. After retiring from his role as a school bus driver, he continued his work as a driver for West Herr, where he enjoyed interacting with customers and contributing to the local community.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Episcopal Church Home and the Veterans Home at Canandaigua for their exceptional love, care, and support during Dave’s time with them. The compassionate care provided to him during his stay brought comfort to both Dave and his family.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on March 21, 2025 at 10am at All Season’s Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Rd., Pittsford, NY 14534.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Canandaigua Veterans Association, Unit 7A, 400 Fort Hill Ave., Canandaigua, NY 14424, in his memory.
