My sincere sympathy & prayers to each of you for the loss of a very dear man. I was one of the nurses at Rochester Products for many years. With the Medical Department next door to the tool room, we saw Don frequently. With me being from Canada & born in the Thousand Islands, we especially shared special stories. Very polite with such a wealth of knowledge, he brought smiles to all our faces.
May he rest at peace now as will ALL the fish!!!
So sad to read about the passing of Don. Better known to me as “Uncle Don”, and my childhood fishing hero. As summer approached every year in our small town of Omemee, ON Canada, I would watch for the truck with the big aluminum canoe and anticipate the arrival of Uncle Don and Aunt June. Neither of them ever seemed to age, and I looked forward to another season of Uncle Don’s fishing stories. I have such fond memories of his big bear hugs and his gentle nature. He loved to fish the Pigeon River in Omemee, or better known to him with his american accent as the “pand”! I still live next the that pond today and I can visualize like it was yesterday that canoe making a trail of ripples in the water. Uncle Don brought me my first bait caster reel which I still have today, some 35 years later, and I will always treasure it dearly.
May you rest in peace Uncle Don, you are forever in my heart and forever “on the pand”. Love you xoxo
Our family is shocked and saddened at the news of Don’s passing.
We have many pleasant memories of their visits to our home in Omemee and where both Don and June made many friends.
Condolences to all family members and friends from Gail, Shelley, Janet and families in Omemee.
