Eleanor Theresa Ann was born on February 15, 1927 to Frank and Anna Darlak. She was the second oldest of four children: Hank, Bob and Lorraine were her other siblings. Lorraine is the only living sibling. She was known as "Ellie" to all her family and friends. She passed away on March 14, 2017 at the age of 90. Ellie's generation lived through the Great Depression and World War II. After World War II she met the love of her life Eugene, also known as "Geno" to family and friends. They celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2008. Their marriage was an inspiration to the entire family. Ellie was a homemaker for most of her life. She worked part-time at Buffalo Jewerly Case. She designed jewelry boxes that were sent all around the world. Ellie lived with her daughter Rita and son-in-law John Hausle for the last 12 years of her life in Rochester, NY. The legacy that Ellie left her family was her strong faith and unconditional love. Ellie had a zest for life. She would light up the room whenever she entered. Ellie had an incredible sense of humor. You always left her presence with a big smile. She had a memorable personality. She was the great storyteller in the family, all the children loved spending time with her. Ellie loved cooking and baking in a big way, especially baking apple pies and chocolate chip cookies. All the holidays were spectacular feasts. At 90 years old she could remember all the characters in old movies. Her favorite musicals were Camelot and Phantom of the Opera. You could always hear Ellie singing in her bedroom. Family loved hearing her hearty laugh while watching comedy shows. Later she became a D/C Marvel fan. The Flash, Arrow and Avengers were her favorites. When she was younger Ellie enjoyed going to Las Vegas with her girlfriends and playing the slot machines. Ellie's most precious highlight in her later life was the marriage of her only handsome grandson Evan to the beautiful and wonderful Amanda. She was so happy to attend their wedding in 2013. Her biggest surprise was that she lived long enough to be a great-grandmother to her darling Harper Mae in 2016. The family was so blessed to have Ellie in their lives.
