  1. My cousin, Elsie, you and I go way back. We spent some memorable moments as students in the same classroom at Mt. Hermon School in Portland, Jamaica. We were inseparable, always having lunch and being on the playground together.
We maintained a closeness in our adult years in Jamaica, and reunited in New York, where our bond continued and you remained a supportive and true friend. There will always be a special place in my heart for you, my cousin, and I will always love and cherish you. I miss you so much.
How we long for the promised fulfillment of Isaiah 33:24, when “no one will say, ‘I am sick.’”

  3. Elsie my beautiful sister you were my first best friend. You stood by me with a love that is rare to find. I am truly grateful for the many
memories we shared I love you and I will miss you more than words can say. Rest peacefully dear sister. You are deeply missed and forever loved

  4. My dear Aunt Elsie,

For the past few weeks I’ve been thinking about what to say, and there’s just so much. I have so many memories of our little private talks and inside jokes. You always supported me and encouraged me to chase my dreams. I could always count on you to give me an honest, straightforward answer, and you were right almost every time.

I’ll never forget when you told me I was going to marry my then boyfriend. You said it so confidently, like you just knew and you were right. That’s who you were, honest, intuitive, and always seeing things clearly, even before the rest of us did.

Thank you for the talks, the laughter (you truly had one of the best laughs), and all the memories we shared.

You are such a big part of our family, and you will be deeply missed.

    Sleep in peace, my love.

    Love,
    Katina

  5. My dear sister, I’m missing you so much. I miss the phone calls, the laughter, the reminiscing of the good
old days back in Swift River,Jamaica.
I know you are now free from pain and suffering and I hope and believe you are in a better place now. Say hi to Curlie and I hope that one day we will all meet again. Dor.

  7. Aunt Elsie loved her family with everything she had. Her children and grandchildren, her siblings, and all the extended family and friends who meant so much to her. Nobody ever felt left out because she made sure of it. She was the one who picked up the phone just to check in, just to hear your voice, just to remind you she was thinking of you. That was simply who she was. Dependable, loving, constant. She always showed up.

She showed her love the way so many great women do. Through food cooked with care, through the crochet projects she poured her time into, through the kind of tough love you don’t fully appreciate until you’re raising your own children. She was funny, and she knew it, and her laugh was the kind that pulled you in whether you wanted to join or not. We all adored her. Honestly, it was impossible not to.

She was one of those rare people, like her mom, who made you feel truly loved. We will miss her more than words can say, but we will also carry her with us in every phone call we make, every meal we cook, and every time we show up for the people we love.
