  1. I was at Michigan State with Josh in the Dorms. His love of the Smashing Pumpkins still brings back many happy memories. Our time together at Mason Hall was a great time, and I have wonderful memories with Eric. I am so sorry for his loss, and I hope peace and happiness reach his family and loved ones.

  2. Eric was not just my cousin, but was also a best friend. From the times we played together as young kids up to when we hung out together during our high school years. When we were just kids, I remember when we played with everything from G.I. Joe to Star Wars. We always thoroughly enjoyed our time together. After our childhood years being close, I unfortunately moved away from New York to Montana. However, after being away, I moved back to Rochester, New York years later to attend high school. In our high school years during the early to mid 90’s, Eric and I reconnected just like when we were young kids. We then again enjoyed our time together. I remember the countless times we hung out together at our grandma’s house. We would drink lots of Mountain Dew and eat pizza while playing Nintendo games all night long until the sun came up. We had many great times with all the fun and laughs.
I’ll always remember Eric as someone who had a great sense of humor, was extremely intelligent, friendly and most of all a had a huge heart. He loved animals and was also very empathetic to people that were less fortunate. It was his loving personality and the wonderful memories we had together that I now have of Eric. Those memories will be with me always. To this day, every once in awhile, a great memory of us comes to me and it brings a smile to my face.
I will miss you greatly Eric. Thank you so much for the wonderful childhood memories that I will NEVER, EVER forget.

You weren’t just my cousin… you were my best friend.
Miss you and love you Eric. God be with you.

  3. I was very sad to hear about Eric’s passing. My heart and prayers go out to his parents and brother.
I met Eric when we were young kids, and he became one of my best friends. He was funny, kind, and the type of person that made you feel comfortable just being around him. He was an amazing friend, and I’ll never forget all the experiences and moments we shared over the years.
I’m praying for peace and comfort for the LoVullo family and all those who are mourning his loss.

  4. Eric, you had a kind heart and I’m thankful our paths crossed, even if only briefly. Sending strength, comfort, and peace to your family and all who loved you.

  5. Goodbye, my friend. I wish we had spent more time together. It was always time well-spent. Will chat again some time about music, science, all the things.
    -Roger Pechous (colleague at UNC)

  6. I was a graduate student who overlapped with Eric when he was at URMC. He was incredibly funny, kind and insightful. My deepest sympathies to your family.

  7. I am so sorry about Eric’s passing. I was Eric’s PhD mentor at URMC and he was such an outstanding student and research scientist. One of the best I’ve worked with over the years. I am truly saddened by his passing. I cannot attend the memorial as I will be out of town, so I wish to extend my deepest condolences to his family here. May he rest in peace.
    -Marty Pavelka

  8. This photo brought back memories of years ago when Eric, Phil, and Jimmy were little and constantly playing together. We used to call them the Three Muskateers. Marcia, Dave, and Dan, there are no words to tell you how sad we are about Eric. After talking to you Marcia several weeks ago, I hoped that Eric would be doing better. We never expected to hear this terrible news. Our hearts are breaking for you. We are so sorry.

  9. Dear David and Marcia,
We are so sorry for your loss. We pray for you and for the repose of his soul.
