Services Evelyn's visitation will be held 4-7 PM on Tuesday, July 17th at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Ln (between Rte 390 Long Pond Rd). Her funeral service will follow visitation at 7PM. Additional Information The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Evelyn's caregivers for their compassionate care. Evelyn was born on January 18, 1919, daughter to Mortimer J. Grayce Ernisse. Growing up in the 19th Ward, she was known for providing a softball for the neighborhood games with the local boys. Her family was very close, especially Evelyn and her sisters. Evelyn had musical talent, playing trumpet at West High School. In the late 1930's she played Court Trumpeter at the May Queen Event at the University of Rochester. In 1943, she married her soulmate Matthew at St. Monicas Church. She enjoyed going to their cottage at Canandaigua Lake. Each of the grandchildren spent one full week with their grandparents at their cottage. Evelyn enjoyed sewing, making recital clothing baking pies. She also liked reading and dancing. Evelyn also took great pride in maintaining the flowers in her yard and growing her tomato plants - in the middle of May, she cleared the spot in her yard where the tomato plants were to be planted and was looking forward to planting them - after Memorial Day, because that's when there wouldn't be any more frost! Unfortunately, the tomato plants never got planted this year. When neighbors would walk past, they always commented on how lovely her yard was - that pleased her immensely!
