  6. A Message to Frank Andolino’s Family

We offer this tribute in honor of the generous, community-centered spirit modeled so faithfully by your patriarch, Frank Andolino.

From 1983 through 2019, Nathaniel Development Company successfully constructed 28 affordable housing communities, creating more than 1,500 apartment homes for families, seniors, and people with disabilities throughout Rochester and surrounding communities. Frank initially partnered with Housing Opportunities, Inc., which affiliated with PathStone in 2006. In recognition of his extraordinary commitment to this new partnership and to our shared mission, we were proud to present Frank with our Visionary Award.

Under Frank’s leadership, Nathaniel also sponsored summer camp programs for children living in our properties. Over a ten-year period, these efforts raised more than $500,000, making it possible for hundreds of children to experience summer learning, recreation, and camping—opportunities that left a lasting imprint on their lives.

Frank further demonstrated his deep commitment to community investment by underwriting an endowed fund administered by the Rochester Area Community Foundation—the Frank Andolino Fund for PathStone. This fund, now valued at more than $150,000, continues to support housing services and stands as a living testament to his generosity and foresight.

In July 2018, we were honored by the presence of Frank and his family as we dedicated PathStone’s real estate development conference room at 7 Prince Street in his honor. The walls of the Frank Andolino Conference Room are adorned with photographs of the properties Frank and his team built—visual reminders of the enduring legacy he leaves behind.

Frank was truly a visionary. He possessed a rare ability to analyze complex challenges and imagine creative, out-of-the-box solutions. He helped all of us see not only what was, but what could be. Time and again, Frank demonstrated his unwavering commitment to building high-quality, attractive homes for people who simply needed a safe and affordable place to live—homes where families and children could thrive.

Frank’s gregarious optimism, his indelible “let’s do it” spirit, and his ever-present humility were hallmarks of his daily journey. Please know that those of us who had the privilege of working alongside Frank express our deepest gratitude for his leadership, his generosity, and his steadfast commitment to our mission. He was a joy to be around, and he is deeply missed.

    With respect and appreciation,

    Stuart J. Mitchell
    CEO Emeritus
    PathStone Corporation
