I first became acquainted with Fred at a local train show. He was one of the hand-full of ‘founding fathers’ of the local model railroad club; Genesee & Ontario Model N-Gineers. I recall the first club meeting I attended was at Fred’s home. The main topic of the meeting was to determine the colors to represent the club. Fred was very detail oriented and artistically focused. He was a mentor for many of new members of the club. He assisted new members to construct display modules and participate in club show events. He was instrumental in designing the artwork for the club’s anniversary railroad car. Fred was well known for his innovative creations, especially a motorized mouse that he placed on the railroad layout much to the delight of the young visitors.
During his involvement with the club, he served as an officer, mentor and friend to all. The club was fortunate to have him participate. My heart-felt condolences to Ginny and the Enrich family. John Becker (Victor NY)
