Rochester: December 30, 2016. Friedrich is pre-deceased by his wife of 42 years, Helen F. Born; his 2nd wife of 14 years, Shirley Born; survived by sons, Gary (Linda) Born, John (Julie) Born, Andrew (Danielle) Born; grandchildren, Kristin, Phillip, Nicholas, and Natalie Born; great grandchildren, Olivia, Clark, and Elizabeth Born; sisters, Else (Erich) Jacob, Nancy (John) Roth; sisters-in-law, Ruth Hemry, Elizabeth Lang; brother-in-law, Ernest Lang.
As a youth, Friedrich loved to fish, played the piano and sing. He eventually developed a great bass singing voice. He was born and raised in Rochester and had two sisters, Else & Nancy.
After he completed high school he joined the Army and was a private 1st class and MP during the Korean War.
He married Helen and had 3 beautiful children, Gary, John & Andrew. He and Helen were married for 43 years until her death. Friedrich eventually met Shirley, his 2nd wife and they were together for 14 years. She too, predeceased Friedrich. They had no children together.
Friedrich continued with his love of fishing and also loved to garden. He became a priest and rector of both Rochester-East and later, Rochester-West congregations. One of Friedrich's most notable sayings was "We grow too soon old and too late smart."
No prior visitation. His funeral mass will be celebrated _____AM on Saturday, Jan 14 at New Apostolic Church in Rochester. Interment in Grove Place Cemetery.
