Remembering Gail Eleanor Iacovangelo~

Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Gail attended School No. 43 and graduated from Jefferson High School. She met the love of her life, Salvatore Iacovangelo, on a blind date, and the two were married on June 6, 1964. Together they built a family, a home, and a lifetime of memories.

Gail enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading, cooking, crafts, and crocheting, and took pride in caring for those she loved. Alongside Sam, she created a home where family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers were always welcome. For more than fifty years, many gathered around their table, drawn by Gail’s cooking and Sam’s gift for conversation. Their door was always open, and over the years they shared countless meals, conversations, and memories with those they loved.

After the loss of her husband, Gail lived a quieter life, but her love of family and her lifelong enjoyment of books remained constant. She will be remembered for her devotion to family, her generous hospitality, and the many memories she helped create for those fortunate enough to know her.

Funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library or the Monroe County Library System in honor of Gail’s lifelong love of reading.
