Miles, Cindy, Lyn & Greg Van Buren Relation to Deceased: Friend We send our prayers and thoughts to your whole family. Please let us know if there is any way we can help. The butterfly emerges from its silken shell- Reborn, it arises, no longer bound to earth. Free at last, the butterfly glides to heights unknown before. So do our loved ones find a beautiful release as, earthbound no more, they leave our sight and joyfully rise to a garden of matchless beauty, a place of light and peace. -Evelyn Phillips
Marisa Mazzone Relation to Deceased: Niece To my zio Peppe: He will be missed by all my family especially me because he was the closest of my mother’s family (his sister Ida) whom we lost this April. He was the youngest. I will always remember the stories he would tell of his early years when he came to Canada. The hardships he encountered in order make a better life. He would always add a litter humor in his story. He succeeded for himself and his family. I had not been to my uncle’s house for a few years, and attending his memorial service this week and visiting the house and seeing the surrounding cultivated land, with many trees and orchards, I realized that he had finally found his passion in life. Planting his vegetables and tending to his grapevines and apple orchard. All the pine trees he had planted were fully grown. The results of his hard work were truly visable. I only regret not visiting more often to appreciate with him and his family the fruits of his labor. My family and I will miss him deeply. But I know that he is with sister (my mother) not suffering as they did here on earth. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family whom we love very much.

Anna M Campisi (nee Galli) Relation to Deceased: Goddaughter I wish to honour my “Compare Peppe” with a farewell message–although I didn’t know him all that well, having met him only a few times in all the 55 years of my life, I know a lot about the kind of man he was, as my beloved father,Mario Galli, God rest his soul, held him in such high esteem–they were best friends and housemates in those early tough years when recent immigrants to Toronto shared struggles to find work, anxieties about the future and a general lack of the finer comforts in life. They were alone in this strange new land and leaned on each other for support, yet they laughed, sang, were hopeful and determined to find the best in life. And they both went on, although in different places, to very successful lives! Many heart-warming and sometimes funny stories about those early days were told to me by Dad so I feel extremely sad for this loss, and I offer the sincere condolences of my whole family-mother Vittoria, husband Charlie and our 3 children Vanessa, Julian and Emily who also were regaled with stories about “Peppe” when they were young. I cherish the relationship we got to develop with Joseph’s sister Ida and her family, a lifelong friendship which was made thanks to him. I am proud to have called him “Godfather” and you are all in our thoughts at this difficult time. As we look back over time We find ourselves wondering ….. Did we remember to thank you enough For all you have done for us? For all the times you were by our sides To help and support us ….. To celebrate our successes To understand our problems And accept our defeats? Or for teaching us by your example, The value of hard work, good judgement, Courage and integrity? We wonder if we ever thanked you For the sacrifices you made. To let us have the very best? And for the simple things Like laughter, smiles and times we shared? If we have forgotten to show our Gratitude enough for all the things you did, We’re thanking you now. And we are hoping you knew all along, How much you meant to us.
