Burgess; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Services Herbert's visitation will be Thursday 7-9 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between Rte 390 Long Pond Rd). His funeral service will be celebrated Friday at Aenon Baptist Church, 175 Genesee St, Rochester, NY at 12 PM. Interment Grove Place Cemetery. Additional Information Herbert was born in New York City to Verchie Willa Purrier and returned to Rochester when he was just 4 months old. He attended John Marshall high school and then worked in Environmental Services at Strong Memorial Hospital for 13 years. The most important thing to him was spending time with his family. He always enjoyed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and any family gatherings. His favorite activities included playing football, going to see the Rochester Rams, attending auto shows, and site seeing in NYC. He was a big football fan and loved watching sports. Friends and family would best describe Herbert as loving, being a people person, resourceful, meticulous, and would agree that he made friends very easily. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
