Born February 17, 1956, Norma grew up in Chicago, IL. Doctors did not give her much hope as she was born with intellectual disability and other difficulties giving her a short life expectancy including not being able to walk or talk. Through faithful dedication of Lucia and Francisco and with God's strength they began to work with Norma. Massaging her legs daily and taking her by the arms and walking back and forth with her. Norma began to walk and speak being able to fully comprehend and communicate. She attended school and even went on to participate in the ARC Workshop at Al Sigl Center in Rochester. She was a true miracle of God to the family and all who came to know her. Norma truly loved the Lord, she memorized scriptures and hymns reciting them and singing all the time. She especially enjoyed going to church and join in during the time of worship. In her last days she encouraged all of us as she raised her hands and waved as we sang her favorite hymns.
For all that know Norma she was known to have a keen hearing where we could not get anything by her and a love of food. She enjoyed watching old westerns, Bonanza and Matlock with her parents. Family and Friends would describe Norma as a loving and gentle heart but at the same time a jokester making fun of her brothers, sisters and even nieces and nephews, putting a smile on their faces. Francisco and Lucia will always remember her as their little angel.
