  1. Jim and Sheila have been wonderful in-laws to our daughter Cindy. Marc and I always enjoyed sharing family time with them. It was such a blessing to be able to do that without conflict. Jim was very friendly and outgoing and a pleasure to be around. He will be missed.

  2. Thoughts and prayers, from the Design Quality Group –
The B&L community is here to support you and your family

  3. Grandpa Fitz was a very special person. We feel so lucky to have been loved by him as bonus grandkids and to be a part of this wonderful family –
    Love, Shannon & Amanda

  4. I was in Jim’s MBA classes at the University of Rochester. We did a lot of case studies in those classes and Jim always came up with a different viewpoint with very deep thinking and great humor. He was a very bright and cordial gentleman. Rest well Jim.

  5. We first met Jim and Sheila at their favorite vacation place,
Block Island. From our very first meeting, Jim offered his warm greetings and caring spirit. We arrived on the island late in the evening and looked a bit lost. Thank goodness Jim walked over to us and said hello. He shared helpful information about all the places the island had to offer. He made us feel safe and welcomed. He even offered to meet for breakfast the next morning! Who would do that other than
Jim Fitzmorris? We called him our angel in disguise!
Since that one chance encounter, we continued to meet Jim and Sheila at Block Island and other nearby places for years to come.
Jim was blessed with a beautiful personality. He always had a smile and a kind encouraging word, along with that contagious sense of humor, a positive outlook and a sincere interest in others.
My late husband Carl and Jim shared many happy times during our vacations together whether on Block Island, walking the shores of Newport or listening to jazz at the Griswold Inn in Essex. We savored joyous times together for many cherished years.
Our friendship extended beyond vacations. One of my favorite memories involves my husband’s home remodeling adventures he shared with Jim. Carl was always were spurred on by Jim’s encouraging words, “You can do it Carl!” It became our mantra when Carl would struggle to finish a project.
You will be deeply missed our beautiful friend, but you will be welcomed in Heaven by all those souls you inspired and befriended in a life well-lived.
God Bless you Jim, we love you and treasure that chance meeting many years ago.
Blessings and Peace to all, Cheryl Friedman
