James is predeceased by his wife Mary Jo Philippone; parents, James Pauline Philippone; sisters, Pauline (Don) Hassett, Mary (Henry) White, Florence (Lou) Moscarello, Franny (Lou) Scarciotta Virginia (Ray) Bianchi. He is survived by his children, James J. Jr. (Deborah) Philippone, Marilyn (Tom) Crumlish, John (Mary Pat) Philippone, David (Cindy) Philippone Margaret Philippone; 6 grandchildren, Matt Philippone, Nicki (Cole) O'Brien, Chris (Sarah Maine) Philippone, Kayla Crumlish, Michael Crumlish Joseph Crumlish; 2 great-grandchildren, Alayna Rylee; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. James' life story will be shared during his visitation, Wednesday, January 2nd, 4-8 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 Long Pond Rd.). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 3rd, 11AM at St. Mark's Church, immediately followed by his burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to St. Mark's Church, 54 Kuhn Rd., Rochester, NY 14612 or to School of the Holy Childhood, 100 Groton Parkway, Rochester, NY 14620 in James' memory. James was born April 20, 1925 in Rochester NY. He was one of 6 kids and the only son to James Pauline Philippone. James attended Edison Tech and then served his country in the US Army from 1946-1947. He was a very talented, proud and hard working bricklayer mason. Those talents found him working for Eastman Kodak Company for over 20 years. He was very active at his church. He was one of the founding members in the creation of Holy Name of Jesus Church. He was an active participant amongst the Knights of Columbus. He and wife Mary Jo enjoyed regularly traveling about the country at K of C sponsored events. You could say James was a kid at heart. Nothing made him happier than when he and Mary Jo traveled to Disney World. His musical tastes were varied and he regulalry broke out singing a tune. James' favorite T.V. shows were, Lawrence Welk and Andy Griffith. His favorite sports teams were NY Yankees Buffalo Bills. Family meant the world to James. He always looked forward to any family event and was especially fond of his grandchildren great-grandchildren. His kind hearted, loving and well liked persona will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
