  1. It’s your poem now
    By Erin marie

I have a beautiful name thanks to you,
My dad was barely around and you filled those shoes.
You taught me to ski in the sweetest way,
By strapping me to you so by your side I would stay.
In 84 you launch your boat and named it after me,
Then taught me to sail it when I got older and made it easy as can be.
I will always be your lady Erin even though you’re no longer here,
I will always remember our memories so awesome and so dear.
I wrote a poem for gram that made you very proud,
Now this one is yours and I’ll read it to the clouds.
Hoping you can hear me and you’re not too far away,
I’m sorry I couldn’t be there for your last and final day.
I’ll always be your lady Erin and in my heart you’ll always be,
Just know you were a lot of the reason why my childhood was happy.
I love you Uncle Jack and I can’t wait to see you again,
In the heavens above just save a spot for me between you and gram.

  2. Jack was a wonderful friend of ours and we always enjoyed his company. His infectious laugh brightened up the lunch room at Holiday Valley. We sure will miss his famous salt potatoes at our St. Practice Day lunches. Gord & Marie Flis – (Ellicottville Back Room Bunch)

  3. Mr. Degnan was my chemistry teacher in 10th grade (1983) and my favorite high school teacher. He had way of connecting with students using analogy and humor, and his Chemistry Magic Show was a treat every one of his classes anticipated and enjoyed. Even as I moved up through my junior and senior years, we’d still chat about school and life, and even exchange a few jokes. Everything I remember about Mr. Degnan was positive!

  4. My husband Phil and I Dorothy Perotto were part of what Jack called his church group.

There was eleven of us who would out for breakfast after Mass on Sunday.
Jack certainly added conversation and fun to the group. He is missed by all of us.

He was a good neighbor to us and we will miss seeing him when we are out for our walks.
    He is in our hearts.

  5. Mr. Degnan was a caring teacher who believed in his students. He took the time to know us and made Chemistry interesting . I am very sorry for your loss.
