  1. Please accept my condolences on your loss. This page is a year old so I don’t know if anyone still checks it. I was with John as a physics student at URI and visited him and Penny at various times through the 70’s. We lost touch for s while after that, but when the 50th anniversary of our graduation came about he contacted through e-mail. We communicated sporadically after that. Recently my e-mails were returned. t took me a while to try looking him up on the internet which is when I came across this obituary.

John was a good friend and I will miss hi a gret deal

  2. We will lovingly and fondly remember John as the humorous, gentle, wonderful soul that he was. We absolutely loved our conversations at the family gatherings and had the utmost respect for him as a person. He was witty, funny, charming and loved his family beyond all limits. He will be greatly missed! We are thinking of you all and are praying for you during this very sad time! We love you, John!

  3. So sorry for your loss!
John was a wonderful guy. I knew him for a very long time and was always glad to see him. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

  4. It was a privilege to work for, with and be friends with John at Turquoise Channel. Those years will always be considered some of the happiest of my life. John was brilliant, a delightful and fascinating conversationalist, a man knowledgeable on many subjects, funny, kind and sometimes brusque, but never in an intentionally hurtful way. While it has been some 30 years since last we met in person, a relationship on Facebook was a wonderful way to rekindle our friendship. The world is a bit poorer with his loss.

  5. My husband John Martinelii was my hero, my savior, my love and my world. He was a funny, intelligent, courteous and kind man. He was the glue in our family. We will miss him so very much.
