  9. Dear Ellyn and family,
It was with great sadness Kathy, and I learned about the death of Joe. I got to know him before he was sick, and he was a very special man that you and your family were very proud of. Given the Ackroyd family has been lifelong friends of my family since the long-ago days at Salem Church I feel a very special attachment to you and your sister Beth. Ellyn, you took care of him right up to the day he passed and you should feel very proud of yourself. You did everything to ease his pain and give him as normal a life as you could as his body failed him. When we heard that he had ALS it broke our hearts that such a wonderful young man could be struck down in the prime of life. It’s impossible to know Gods plan for him but we can all rest assured he has all of his abilities back and lives now in Paradice as Jesus promised on the cross. Kathy and I wish you well and we know you will find peace in your life knowing Joe will be with you and want only the best for his family in life. God Bless you and your entire family. Peace be with all of you. Eddie and Kathy Gartz

  10. Ellyn, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time. I met Joe when I was officiating boys basketball and he always treated so great when I came to Wilson Magnet. He became a friend who I always enjoyed seeing and talking to.
