Always knew her as Josie Malta from EHS, did not know her married name. Know that Josie was a bright light in high school, when back home I would see her delightful self at Rubino’s. Prayers for an old friend.
Josie was my 2nd mom. My dad always said that the only steps in our family were in the house. She was there at every special moment in my life. It has been an honor to have her in my life.
We are very saddened to hear of your loss, Aunt Josie, and would like to express our sincere condolences to you and your family.
With Love, Your School 52 Family
I was so shocked to hear about Josie’s passing. I will never forget her infectious smile & kind, wonderful, happy personality. My thoughts & prayers go out to you & your complete family. Josie is now enjoying her eternal life in heaven with your Mom & Dad. The stars will shine a bit more brightly now that she is up there with them!!
Josie – was such a wonderful girl and I was so saddened to hear of her passing. I will always have fond memories of her when we were in high school. We had many wonderful times together along with her sister Phyllis. She will be sadly missed and all who knew her were blessed.
To my life long friend Jo Jo may you be at peace. God has added a very special Angel. I will always hold in my heart the special memories we shared. You were always the most kindest and understanding person I have ever met. How priviledged I have been for such a wonderful in my life. I will always love you. My prayes go out to Tony, Phyllis and all of your family.
My mom says that one Thanksgiving Day when I was a baby, was very eventful. My Aunt Josie was holding me. All of a sudden I started to scream. Nobody knew why. It was soon discovered that Aunt Josie’s broach was sticking in my tummy. I had to go to the hospital. I am not sure Aunt Josie ever got her broach back.
I remember when my Aunt Josie came to my son Jonathan’s baby dedication. She was not sure what was different about this baby dedication but I remember her saying that it was a sense of peace that she felt that she had never felt before.
I know that she is at peace in the arms of Jesus today and that gives me peace as I think about her. The peace she has can be yours too when you seek the presence of the Holy Spirit.
“I am the Light of the World”…May the goodness of God’s Light continue to shine through Josie upon her loving family, especially her beloved sister, Phyllis.
I will miss my Aunt Josie. I loved her inviting smile whenever my family would come to visit. She always said there was room for one more, even when all eight of my children arrived for Thanksgiving dinner.

You laid there in that hospital
bed, you tried so hard to hold on.
God was calling you home because
He needed another angel to help poor out the rain.
Tears have fallen, hearts where shattered, and you will always be in our hearts but it was time for you to fly home.
Your loved ones came to say their last goodbyes, to tell you they loved you, and that you will be forever missed.
Love to you always as you have received
your Golden Wings and the final reward to eternity..
Your loving nephew
