Survived by daughter, Lisa (Michael) Swartz; son, John (Patty Rockhill) Buonaugurio; grandchildren, Stephanie, Megan, Tyler Swartz; brother, Anthony "Dick" Thomas; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Josephine's visitation is 4-7 PM on Friday, February 6 at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd). Her funeral mass will be celebrated 10 AM on Saturday at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 N. Greece Rd, Rochester. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Born on January 19, 1939, Josephine grew up in the Holy Apostles neighborhood. She was a graduate of Nazareth High School and furthered her education after graduation by getting her Bachelor's Degree. She later worked at Taylor Reel and McGraw Hill and owned a side business, Lisa's Card Shop. Josephine always kept up-to-date with her girlfriends from Nazareth and remained close with the girls she had worked with at Neisner's. She loved family gatherings and always enjoyed hosting. In her spare time, Josephine liked cooking, calligraphy, traveling, and was a devout Catholic and a NY Yankees fan. Family and friends would best describe Josephine as a loyal friend, someone who was resilient, loved her family and grandchildren, and loved talking to others on the telephone. She will be dearly missed.
