  9. Karen – I remember the first night we met. I was only 17 years young and it was “Hell Night” for sorority at Monroe Community College. It was the begining of a lot of fun and growing up together. About 45 years went by (really fast) but we always remained friends. You will be greatly missed by many. Your smile and kind heart were always real. When I told you I loved you, your reply was “I Love You More.” Now I say the same to my daughter. Thanks for loving me more and teaching me to do the same. Your life touched the lives of so many. The ripple effect will be long lasting. The Moose.

  10. Karen helped us so much at the Southwest Area Neighborhood Association (SWAN), made us all feel so welcome at Flint St., and offered us wisdom and advice at the community center (at the middle school). She was a great youth and community leader. These last few years, I bumped into her on the beach and we talked. I will miss Karen. I imagine her with her mother and others, enjoying a new life in heaven.

  14. We will forever be in debt to have being blessed with such a loving caring and thoughtul friend and the most “Dedicated” worker I have come across in my 32 years in recreation. She has touched and mentored many, she has been a 2nd Mother to many of our young employees at either Manhattan Square Park Rink or Durand Eastman Beach. We have lost a valuable and trusted friend/employee but Heaven has added another angel!

Much Love from all that you have touched! John

  15. I can still see Karen raiding ice from the fridge in the Staff Room at M.P.B. She’d fill her cup with as much ice as Pepsi and park it on the edge of the stage. Woe to any student who accidently spilled that cup when she was conducting her gym classes!
Now she’s raising her Pepsi glass with the angels.
    She will be missed.

  16. Karen always passed on her good mood to everyone around her. I shared some softball years with her and I’m glad that she was a friend in my life. RIP friend.

  17. Karen and I met in 5th grade when we had both moved to Greece at 10 years old. She was my best friend for most of the rest of our school time together. I had not heard from her in a long time but she was always in my thoughts. We always had so much fun together. I am so sorry for your loss she was such a bright spot in everyone’s life and she will surely be missed. My sympathies to the family on her loss. Sharon

Rest in Peace Karen not only did God gain another angel he has someone in charge of recreation!

  29. Karen, I miss your friendly smile and the courage to speak up when things are wrong. Swapping candy at bowling, filling each other in on the news of the day, and our own brand of how to fix the world, will be greatly missed.

  31. Karen, You came into my life when I was 4 years old as my nursery school teacher at Sebastian Park. You continued to be an amazing role model to me and my four brothers through our years at Most Precious Blood. All those years you were always there for our family with your generosity and support. Even as we grew into adults you were still there, showing up at happy times like our weddings and most recently during a truly hard time when we lost our dad. Karen was truly a wonderful person inside and out and will be deeply missed; our street lost “The Mayor” as we would like to kid with her, she is the only women we knew who would come over when we were in the mist of gardening or working outside and tell you that your doing it wrong and then she would do it her way and finish it…we are greatful to have her in our lives and privalleged to live across the street from one of the strongest and out spoken “loud mouth” women we know and we will miss our afternoon weekend drink socials and chats with her Pepsi in hand an adult beverage in ours…RIP Our Dearest Friend

  41. To know Karen was to get a glimpse of God. She was genuine, free of pretense and cared for each person she encountered. Simply put: she loved, and I trust that now she knows the embrace of Divine Love. The world is a better place because Karen graced it. I feel honored to have known her. Thank you, Karen, for loving us all.

  42. Karen was quite simply a gift to Rochester. When evaluating what someone meant to us a simple question fleshes out the significance. Did they make an impact on their friends, family & community? In this case the answer is an obvious one, without question she left the world a better place because of her presence. Loving, engaged and a positive influence. Can anyone say she didn’t brighten your day? Booming smile and one would feel welcomed by her. There are literally thousand of youths whom were guided and nurtured by her in Rochester. Few people can say they can match her impact upon her community. Quite a precious gift, this Karen Piedici. Rest in Peace.

  47. I am truly heart broken. Heaven now has a an angel that I can’t help thinking she is still hard at work making people smile, and helping others . Such a loss to this earth.
