  1. I am shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Lian. In the short time I have known her, she always was helpful and gave extraordinary direction to our company. My condolences to her family.

  2. We at ESOP Plus are all devastated. We are in total shock and disbelief as is the entire national ESOP community.

Notwithstanding her relative youth, Lian has left a substantial wake behind her because of her intellect, her judgment, her skill, her sensitivity and her kindness.

Lian was a good friend of all of us in addition to being a wonderful colleague. Everyone will miss her greatly.

She was a major delight in our lives, and we mourn her absence. It’s almost impossible even to believe that she’s gone. We are thankful that our always warm and engaging interactions with Lian will continue to live in our minds.

Lian always served others before herself, and the world is much better for it.

    Lian’s clients loved her.

Here are a few of their comments:

“She was the sweetest person who always wanted to help me.”

    “She was an amazing woman.”

“She was an amazing attorney and helped our organization immensely. I both respected and liked her very much. She will be missed greatly by our team.”

“Lian was a wonderful person and will be missed by many.”

“Lian was an amazing lawyer, Mother and Wife.”

“She was such a special person and I am going to miss her and her “calm way””

“In the relatively short time she worked with us she established herself as a thoroughly knowledgeable, immediately accessible, and caringly engaged professional. Whenever a question came up during the ESOP transaction or later I would tell all to contact Lian–and that was always the right thing to do. In all my years in business I must say that I’ve never had someone establish such trust and admiration so completely.”

  3. Sending heartfelt condolences to family and friends of Lian. May the memories shared with her provide a source of comfort to you all during this difficult time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

  4. Dear Ralph , Pam , Brian and family,

Take comfort in your memories at this time of sadness.
You and your family are in our prayers and thoughts today and always.

  5. I am so sorry to learn of Lian’s passing. She was such a bright, bubbly and fun ray of sunshine back in our glory days of high school at Beaumont and it sounds like she continued to shine on in all she did. Sending love, hugs, and prayers to the Shalala and Gravelle families during this tragic time. I hope the many fond memories you shared with Lian bring your heart peace and comfort.

  6. Please know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many (including mine). I am terribly sorry for this unimaginable loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. May the God of loyal love comfort you during this difficult time. (Ps. 119:76)

  7. I only met Lian once and that was when she first started with Krieg. She seemed to be a lovely person and, after reading her obituary, it’s obvious that she was, and loved by anyone she was in contact with. My deepest sympathies to her family. May you hold your memories close and may God comfort and sustain you in the time to come.

  8. Brian, I am so sorry to hear about Lian’s passing. There are no words. She sounds like an amazing lady and you two such a gift for one another. Although her time on the Earth plane is far too short for those who know & love her, you gifted her love, marriage & motherhood (blessings that some people never find). And she has gifted you the same, along with her legacy of two beautiful boys. May you find peace in those amazing souls you & Lian created together & brought into this world. Although she is just the other side of the veil, may you feel her presence and see signs when she is near. Sending lots of love, light & prayers for you, your boys, and your families & friends. Much Love!

  9. So very sorry to hear of Lian’s passing. I have fond memories of Lian from our days at Beaumont. Sending lots of love and prayers to Lian, her family and her twins.

  10. I met Lian during the recruiting and new hire process at Krieg DeVault. Lian was kind, gracious, and thankful. She was a very positive person; in love with her family and life in general. She was truly the rare type of person you meet that is just who they appear to be: kind, loving, generous, passionate, and fun-loving. Although I only knew her a short-time,the impact she left will not be forgotten.
My deepest sympathies to Brian, the twins, and all of Lian’s friends and family.
    Christine Johnson

  11. My condolences on the loss of Lian. May your prayers and your fond memories of her give you the strength to
cope with the loss of this dear woman. Trust in God for the help needed during this time of sorrow.
    Psalm 62:8

  12. I worked with Lian at McCready and Keene. She was truly a blessing to all of us. I’ll never forget our Wednesday lunches. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and those two precious boys!!
