Rochester- Passed away October 25, at age 85. Louis is predeceased by his parents, Harry Alvira (Twardokus) Dewhurst, daughter, Kimberly Edmunds and daughter-in-law, Janice Oliver. He is survived by his wife, Virginia "Ginny" Anne (Haddelton) Dewhurst; children, Michael Dewhurst, Cindy Davis Tamara Mrose; son-in-law, Mark Edmunds; grandchildren, Michael Sanchez Scott Davis; many nieces, nephews dear friends. Louis's funeral service will be held Saturday, October 31, 1:00 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane, 14626 (Between Rt 390 Long Pond Rd). Dewhurst was born May 28, 1935, in Rochester NY to Harry Alvira (Twardokus) Dewhurst. He grew up in Rochester, on Gregory St and went to Monroe High School. As a child he enjoyed playing the violin and the piano. Louis met Ginny while they were working at a summer camp, Ginny was 14 and Louis was 17. He loved her unconditionally. After high school, Louis enlisted in the US Navy only to find out he was too tall to be on a submarine, so he decided on the US Air Force. Since he was young, Louis always wanted to be a Master Sergeant in the military. Upon retiring from his service, he achieved LT Col rank. After serving almost 19 years in the military, he went on to Brockport where he earned his teaching degree. He taught 2 years in Kendall High School, he taught computers to those in prison and wrote computer programs for small municipalities in Orleans County. Louis enjoyed hunting bear, deer, small game, and fishing. He loved to fly, wood carving, play the banjo and square dance. As an adult, Louis and Ginny purchased an RV. They traveled from August 16, 1999 and returned on August 17, 2000, stopping in Florida and California to name a couple of destinations. Louis will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
