We are so very sorry to hear of Mackenzie’s passing. She was loved by so many. We cannot imagine your grief, but we send you so much strength, love, and peace during this time. xoxo
Mary, Dan, Tate, Knox, and Phoebe Hurley
Like so many others, we were heart broken to hear of Mackenzie’s passing. Please know that we are thinking of you at this time and that we share in your sorrow.
Words cannot express the heartache I feel for you and your family. I remember MacKenzie dancing on my desk and sitting in the paper box playing, it was our make-shift playpen. Every time I hear “Apple Bottom Jeans” I see her beautiful face. She taught us all how to be stronger than we think we are. You both make me want to be as strong of a parent as you both are. Know that I am thinking of you all and MacKenzie today and every day. When we move to Colorado next month, I will sit on a mountain top and tell her how much you love and miss her, even though I am sure she knows that.
Thinking of you all during this time….. God only chooses the best people to be Angels early…. Prayers and heartfelt wishes to you all….lots and lots of love from my family to yours
Dear Bennett Family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. There will not be a day that goes by that I will not think or pray for Mackenzie and all of you. Mackenzie has taught me so much and I thank her for that. I will carry her with me forever. Thank you for sharing your beautiful daughter with all of us.
I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter. I have been following her story and I feel like I know her. She is one special person for sure. You have truly been blessed to have her and love her. Right now all the angels above are loving on her while she is sitting on Jesus’s lap. I am so sure she is flying with all of the angels right now and watching over her beautiful family. Lindsey, the words that you wrote about her are so heart warming. Sharing you thoughts and feelings is a blessing to all of us following her story. And all the benefits that people have done is just amazing. All the story’s are beautiful about her. So I know we all share in your grief for her. Continue to talk to her all the time. I lost my sister also to a brain tumor at 47 and I still talk to her. She will be forever in your heart and you will always have her near you.
God Bless you and your family. I will continue to pray for all of you.
Soar with the Angels Mackenzie. You are loved by so many and have touched so many.
I never knew Mackenzie, personally, but I know people who did. I followed her story, and it was so touching. I am so sorry for your loss. I know there will be a shining light everyday, and she will be in your hearts forever. I saw how kind and caring she was, and how she loved everyone and everything. I am very sorry for your loss. May each day give you some peace and some healing.
My condolences to all, I knew very little about this disease until Facebook recommended Greg for Mackenzie as a friend. I can’t even imagine how hard it must be to loose a child. My prayers are with you all in this time of need and god has gained another angel. Thank you for sharing her story and giving me the chance to learn about a medical disease I never hear of or knew about.
My name is Garrett Wilds and I wanted to send you my condolences. I do not know you, the family, personally, but I truly wanted to reach out to you all. Words cannot express how I feel, but please know that as a fellow person of this world, I love you and your family. Please take your needed time to rest, eat, and mourn. Depend on one another and when you can, look into the Bible for comfort. Look to Scriptures such as Psalm 34:18, Revelation 21:3,4 and Psalm 55:22. Meditate on them and they might help you. Again, please know that I am thinking of you and that you have my love.
Heartfelt condolences to the entire family, your little Mackenzie brought an entire community together in an effort to help her fight that nasty disease and I pray that the unity will continue even though she is no longer here with us. Mackenzie will live on in your hearts forever and in the hearts and memories of this community for years to come. Rest in peace little angel, you are certainly remembered with love by all who were fortunate enough to have met you here on earth.
I am so very sorry for your familys loss. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting her in person it was very clear that Mackenzie was beautiful on the inside and out! Fly high sweet girl!
I never met Mackenzie or her family but I followed her story and progress. I showed my daughter her videos and my daughter Marisol laughed with Mackenzie when she laughed. I’m so sorry for your loss. My prayers of peace for you and your family.
To all of Mackenzie’s family who are hurting at this time. Know you are not alone. There are people all around you that do understand. I have no doubt Mackenzie is in heaven right now running around with our little AlicianaDawn. Although we all have someone to greet us when we arrive at the gates, seeing these two beautiful angels will be our biggest gift! You are all in my thoughts, my heart and my prayers at this time. Love, peace and wishes of strength to all of you.
Even though I never met Mackenzie, I felt a bond with her mom, Lindsay. Speaking mom to mom, I couldn’t imagine what Lindsay was going through. My older son, Daniel and Mackenzie were at the same school and I felt compelled to do what I could to help a mom do the only thing she could do for her child. I followed her story and looked forward to her updates on how sweet Mackenzie was doing. I prayed consistently for Mackenzie and her family. When I found out that Mackenzie and her family went to our Church, St. John the Evangelist in Spencerport, I felt an even stronger bond with the Bennett Family. I put them on the Prayer Chain at Church every Sunday and please know that your Church prayed with me for your family so that maybe God would give mercy to Mackenzie. I never lost hope. Fast forward to when I saw the news she passed, my heart jumped into my throat, I can never give words to even try to understand what you and Matt and your entire family are going through, Lindsay. We grieve for you and with you. When I told my kids that your sweet Kenzie passed, (which I found out Sunday morning) my oldest son actually had tears in his eyes. His first words were let’s go light a candle at Church in her memory! I said what a great idea, we said a quick prayer, got ready for church and lit a candle in her memory! I can never have the right words to tell you how sorry we are for the loss of your sweet little girl, but please know your Church Family and your Spencerport Community will be here for whenever you need us! We love you guys! #SpencerportStrong
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family! I’ve been praying from afar for your little angel since I first read about her. She was strong at heart and very creative! Always remember her positivity and courage through tough times ahead. She would want everyone to remember her this way! Fly high Mackenzie! With love, Melanie
Lindsay, Matt and family,
Words cannot express how sorry we are. Mackenzie was a beautiful little princess who will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you for sharing her journey.

My thoughts and prayers to you and your entire family. Mackenzie was a gourgeous girl who made me smile with her pictures even when she was sick and in the hospital she always had a glow and a light full of love. I believed if anyone could win this fight it would have been your daughter. theta love and mine, Kwincie (Meredith Ritchie, Eta Class, 95)
Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that every bit of our hearts goes out to you during this most difficult time. Although I did not know her personally, Mackenzie’s newsfeeds always brought warmth to my heart watching her enjoy every moment no matter what was going on in her life. She will also be an inspiration to others!
My sincerest condolences to you on Mackenzie’s passing. She is flying high with the other little angels. She is with you always. God be with you all during this time and in the days, months and years to come.
I am truly sorry for your loss. May god give you the strength to get thru these very difficult time. I know your angle will be watching over you and the family. I know your heart breaks but she is not suffering any more. God puts us here on earth for a short time for a reason to help others abd bring joy into someones life. Your little girl did just that she gave so many love and joy to so many people. Children have so much love in them that they realy dont know that they are giving it out, and that is what your baby did. God bless you and your family today and always. May you little angle rest in peace.
May she Rest In Peace, and let her be a smile on your face every time you think of her. I know I will just because of the pictures and your stories of how she was always thinking of others! My thoughts are with all of you at this time!
My heart breaks for you and your family, at the loss of your beautiful, precious baby. I am praying for God to give you strength and peace. I am so sorry.
I am so sorry. Like so many others I’ve rooted for Mackenzie from afar, a member of the horrible DIPG alliance (whynotdevin). I have seen and felt Mackenzie’s kindness and your encompassing love for her. She left with all your love tucked under her angel wing and I have no doubt she will never be far from her family. Every parent knows there is no greater pain than losing a child. You did everything single thing you could.
In the days ahead, there will come a time when no other children will die from DIPG, and Mackenzie will know that and rejoice.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Thank You for sharing your journey with Mackenzie. May a cure be found soon for this terrible disease.
MacKenzie,
What can I say other than you are such a beautiful girl and so brave. You have taught so many of us a lesson of faith and to never give up. I rejoice in the fact you are no longer suffering. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Fly high sweet girl. You are loved and missed every minute of the day.
We are deeply saddened by the news of your loss. We pray that God will grant you the strength needed to get through this moment in your life. Our most sincere condolences.
Fly high little princess may the grace of the Lord be yours! Your family gained an angel and the world was touched by your beautiful soul. Much love to all of you!
I have followed Mackenzie’s battle and she has truly touched my life. I want to send my deepest heartfelt wishes to her family and just say I am praying for everyone during this time of sadness. May God be with your family.
How can we ever thank you for bringing this beautiful, amazing child into our lives and allowing us to take care of her? It was love at first sight for both Bob and I and our love only grew from there.
You fought tirelessly to save her, you went above and beyond with herculean strength, leaving no stone unturned. You should be very proud of those efforts. We are very proud of you.
My family and I send our condolences. Mackenzie will continue to be a huge presence in our thoughts and therefore you will all be in our prayers. Mackenzie changed our lives and we have never even met her, continued prayers for a cure and for comfort all the days of your lives.
The world was a better place with sweet Mackenzie in it. She is so loved, and her memory remains as an example for all of us left here to strive to be more loving, caring, and giving people. As a mom of 3, I can imagine your pain, and your grief. My heart aches for you. I wish that this cancer never existed, and that Mackenzie was still here. Sorry doesn’t even begin to express it. Sending all of my love to you. ♡
Mackenzie had a light about her that beamed out from all the updates and posts on her page, even though we never had the privilege to meet her in person we felt her energy from the beautiful posts. She had a positive impact with her bright and beautiful outlook on life. If everyone acted more like Mackenzie did in her short time on this Earth it would be a better place.
Although I didn’t personally know McKenzie, I felt as though I did. Krissy was my classmate and we heard about McKenzie weekly and she kept us up to date on what was going on. She was a beautiful spirit and she was greatly loved. Find comfort in knowing her mission here on earth was complete and she has began her heavenly journey to live among the angels. May you continue to find comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering and is at peace. God bless you all!
My heartfelt condolences to the family Bennett. Although I was never allowed to get to know Mackenzie personally, Mackenzie was a happy and funny girl. The many pictures I’ve viewed are for me like a movie. Mackenzie will also remain forever in my heart. Rest in peace charming Mackenzie. ❤❤❤
Your beautiful little girl has touched so many lives. I will forever think of her when I am traveling over the 59st bridge, I know she spent many times looking at that bridge. Take care of yourselves and your little boys. I have never met you but your family and Mackenzie have really touched my heart. Thinking of you. X
To the Bennet family, Our sincerest condolences…May the days ahead be easier but never forgotton…To the Superstar(Mackenzie)in Heaven…May your beautiful light continue to shine brightly on a dimly lit world and those you shone on…You are loved more than all the stars in Heaven and all the sand in the sea!
May our God continue to bless you with a wall of comfort, and, the fore-knowledge of a precious reunion with beautiful little Mackenzie in Heaven. You’ve touched so many hearts with your faithfulness. Though we’ve never met, you have a special place in my heart. With the strength of Jesus Christ I will guard the memories of your beautiful Mackenzie you have shared jealously. Thank you for being you.
