  1. Dona, Tyler, Garret & Hanna, Mark was the light of your lives and you were his. We were all so blessed to have known him and you to have had him as your husband and your father. He will never be forgotten. Love and Peace

  2. We did not know Mark as well as many others who are mourning. However, we can see what kind of man he was when we look at his dear children, as, in the end, they are the lasting legacy of Mark and Dona. Their daughter Hanna is a caring, giving, sweet young lady which reflects on the values of Mark: Family first & Help others. We wish you all condolences on your loss and prayer & strength in the coming months.

  3. Dona, for you and your children, I send my love and everlasting condolences regarding Mark’s untimely passing. He was a true blessing to have known and he will live on in the lives of everybody he touched. I know these words will never fill the void that will always be felt by you, but please giveChrist a chance to show you his path and new plan for all of you. Heaven is a better place with Mark n it, even though we weep for his loss of life and for our own feeling of loss. I certainly will never forget his humor or his laugh. He always made me feel good to be around him and I know that’s what you’ll miss! He fought hard to stay with you and your beautiful children and that love alone I pray shall always sustain and be with you. While rubbing Mark’s head and telling him I was there and I loved him, I shall always remember the smile that came across his face! Mark knew he was truly loved! We his friends are all blessed just as all of Mark’s family to have had our lives intertwine. God bless you on your path of comfort and remember, you are never alone. Mark will always be with you in spirit and friends like Margie and I are but a phone call away!

  4. Our sincerest condolences in Mark’s passing. Know that his love lives on in this world eternal, love is never transient as it remains within us all in this world. Gods greatest gift eternal in both this life and that which follows.

God Bless You Dona, Mark, Family & Friends.

Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared Marks love ..

  13. I’m so sorry to hear of Mark’s passing. He will be missed much at the P.O. I could always count on him for a good laugh. My last conversation with Mark before he got sick will always put a smile on my face. May you and your family find the strength to pull you through this difficult time.

  14. To the Surdi family, the Newton family, all of Mark’s friends and co-workers….if heaven is the Hall of Fame for nice guys, Mark got in on the First Ballot. It was an honor to work with him, play ball with him, and share his friendship. Like John Fess before him, seeing Mark’s smiling face and sharing family news brightened many a dreary night of providing for our loved ones. Godspeed, Mark-you are in my heart forever.

  15. There simply are no words to express the feelings we have for you and your family at this time. Know that Mark is home now in the loving arms of Christ and at peace. Also know that you are loved by many here on earth sending you as many prayers for peace as we mere humans can to support you while the ever-present hand of God carries you all through this unthinkable period of time. Always love and hugs…

  16. When asked why he was working so much recently Mark answered “I have to help my family”. In some way I’m hoping his relationships with friends is helping his family today. Mark will always be remembered as a great dad and husband. The family has my deepest sympathy.

  31. To the Surdi Famiy,
My heart breaks for you and your current loss. I send nothing but thoughts and prayers to you in this difficult time. Your biggest strength lies within relying on the bonds you share with each other, that which you will always share with Mark. Although distance and emptiness is the feeling we are left with, keep in mind that one can never be too far as long as you hold them in your heart.

  32. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. Please count on the inner strength of your family and the support of your friends during this difficult time.

  33. We may never know why He felt the need to take Mark from us so soon; but we can be Thankful for the time we had with him. He truly was one of the best

  34. Another wonderful son, husband, father, and friend gone too soon. I know your pain. I only wish I could take away the hurt. Take solace, Dona, in the fact that some people go all their lives and never find what you had with Mark. In that respect, you and your children are truly blessed. He was a gift given to you, if only for a short while; but,oh, how much he taught you about love.

  35. They must have needed Mark awful badly in heaven. This is just to help light his way there. You were a light in every life you touched, Mark. You will be greatly missed.

  36. I cannot express my sincere condolences on the passing of Mark, I still cannot even begin to comprehend why. He will be missed by so many people, and his laugh will stay forever in our hearts. God bless you and your family.

    Margaret
