Rochester: Michael died after a courageous battle with cancer, May 7, 2015 at the age of 51. Michael is predeceased by grandparents, Roy Catherine Marithew, Agnes Rosati Donald Gartz; mother in-law, Carmela Cenname; brother in-law, Jon Cook. Michael is survived by his parents, Dale and Donna (Gartz) Cunliffe; his wife, Jo-Anne (Cenname) Cunliffe ; children, Michael Cunliffe Jr. and Melyssa Cunliffe; his soon to be grandchild; Brothers, Scott (Lori) Cunliffe, Brian (Linda) Cunliffe; Sister and brother in-laws, Philene (Tom) Lill, Guy (Tina) Cenname and Carmela (Rick) Thousand; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces nephews and cousins. Michael was known as "Mike the Dad" of WCMF.
Michael's visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 PM 7-9 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd.) His funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 am at the funeral home.
Michael was born on June 27, 1963. During his childhood he enjoyed many sports such as T-Ball, swimming, baseball and hockey. He continued playing tennis, baseball and hockey throughout high school. Michael also liked to fish, ride his bike and worked as a lifeguard during his youth. After high school, Michael served in the U.S. Army, he was very proud of his country and served in the military with honor. During his adulthood, he met his wife, Jo-Anne through work. They were married and had two children, Michael Jr. and Melyssa. Michael was a wonderful father who loved his children very much and was very proud of them. Michael was known as "Mike the Dad" on WCMF. He enjoyed listening to country and rock music. His favorite song was Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker. Michael also liked to watch cartoons on T.V. such as Sponge Bob Square Pants. Michael worked as a Supervisor at Walmart and was very respected by his co-workers. He was known to be focused, driven and treated people fair with whom he worked with. He collected dragon statues, enjoyed the outdoors, worked on cars, enjoyed hunting and camping. Michael liked to play war games on the computer. He was "Mad Max" character on an online war game.
Michael was known to be a caring, sensitive and a passionate person. He was also proud, independent, hardworking, determined and competitive. Michael loved animals and children. He would often feed and care for stray animals. He also had a good sense of humor and cared for his community. Michael will deeply missed and fondly remembered by many family and friends.
