“Magdalena, Joe, John, Tommy, Jessica and Zachary express our deepest sympathy to Danielle, Cameron, Cullen and Conner and the entire Yager family on the sudden loss of Michael. His loss came as a shock to us all when we heard on Christmas morning in Manila. Our hearts sank to hear the news. Our prayers continue for the peaceful repose of Mike’s soul in joyful communion with the light of God. We have asked Tom to share our thoughts and prayers in our absence.
It is difficult to remember a time when Mike was not in our lives. Since the time he and Mark were too young to cross Elmguard to play, we grew up on parallel paths connecting time and time again over 5 decades. Lynn’s adventures in babysitting started and ended with the Yagers, Mike being the calmest influence on Mark & Mary. Trips to interesting places, bonfires at the cabin and lively parties with good friends punctuated our years of friendship.
Mike was a direct and sincere friend. He was a man of strong conviction you could count on. Mike’s resolute, some would say stubborn, character was mellowed over time by his deep love for Danielle and embrace of his role as a dedicated, loving father. Witnessing the growth of Mike into a responsible, caring family man was a special blessing to his mother Shirley and to all those of us privileged to know him through the years.
We will miss Mike. The grief we feel at his passing is tempered with the knowledge of his heavenly joy in communion with loved ones who passed before. We who grieve in the present can find comfort in the friendship, love and impact Mike had on all of us. May God bless and guide the soul of Michael as his spirit echoes into the future within all of us who loved him.
Danielle, Cameron, Cullen, Connor, Uncle Dom and Barb, words cannot express how deeply sorry I am. My heart breaks for you all. My love and prayers to you.
Our hearts are broken for the loss of a great man my Uncle Mikie. Hard to really fathom this. We will miss you. The LORD has you for all eternity , we will see you again.
