Mildred J. (Ingram) Owens Greece - December 13, 2018. Mildred is pre­deceased by her husband John J. Owens, Jr.; sisters, Ruth Ingram Cather­ine Grassi; niece, Betsy (Mickey) Murdock. She is survived by her children, Hon. John M. (Nancy) Owens, Pat (Greg) Rood, Sharon (John) Kowalski, Chris (Myrna) Owens, Grandchildren, John (Jessica) Owens, Jr., Matt (Jessica) Owens, James Rood, Jason Rood, Greg Rood, Kari Kowalski, John (Janice) Kowalski, Kelly (Tim) Howe, Courtney Owens, Caitlin Owens; 10 adoring great-grandchildren; nephew James (Sonya) Grassi; niece Mary (Gerry) Fietze; many great-nieces, great-nephews and dear friends. Mildred's life Story will be shared during her visiting hours, Monday, December 17th, 2-4 7-9 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 Long Pond Rd.) Mildred's funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 18th, 10 AM at Holy Cross Church, followed by her burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations may be sent to Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Ave., Roch­ester, NY 14612 or to Lifetime Assistance, 425 Paul Rd, Rochester, NY 14624 in Mildred's memory. Mildred was born on April 16, 1923 to James and Elizabeth Ingram in Brooklyn, NY. She grew up with two sisters, Ruth Catherine and her father owned a Livery business in Brooklyn. Mildred had fond memories of going to Dodgers games with her father. During her teen years, she enjoyed taking trips to Saratoga Race Track where she also met her future husband, John. Mildred and John shared 46 years happily married. While still living in Brooklyn, she worked as a legal secretary in New York City. After they had their first child, Mildred and John moved their family to Rochester to begin raising a family. They went on to have four children, John, Pat, Sharon Chris. Mildred was considered the matriarch in the family. Her entire life revolved around her love of family, traveling and making great memories. Some of Mildred's favorite events in life were celebrating the holidays with everyone she loved. She was very dedicated to her church and spent many years volunteering; from the school lunchroom to the Holy Cross Festival. Mildred was always keeping busy. She really loved taking trips to Florida with her husband, especially after retirement they did a lot of traveling. For sixty years, Mildred made sure that she and her family took one or two annual trips to Ryan Trail in Allegany. Mildred was a devoted Catholic who loved her faith and her parish, Holy Cross. She made sure, with the help of her husband, that her children were raised with faith and knew the importance of God in their lives. Mildred was known to be a selfless person who always put others first in her life. She will be dearly missed by many family and friends. Mildred will always be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
