Greece, NY: Nancy S. Iafrati at the age of 71, passed away at home, as per her wishes, on April 22, 2026, after a three-year battle with cancer. She is predeceased by her father Andrew Sperr; her siblings Jim Sperr, Bill Sperr, Mary Ellen Maloney, Barbara Koons, and AJ Sperr. She is survived by her husband Michael Iafrati; daughter Laura (Dan Andrus) Iafrati; son Christopher (Gloria Fuentes) Iafrati; mother Jean (Walz) Sperr; her siblings Dan (Sandy) Sperr, John (Sheila) Sperr, Judy Bennett, Patty (Chris) Ryan, and Katie (Jonathan) Krotz. Nancy loved and was loved by her in-laws, extended family members, many close friends, and nieces and nephews.

She had friends everywhere, and up until a short time before her death could be found spending time playing mahjong and pickleball, leading book club at her church, and practicing yoga. She was a woman of strong faith and had many roles in her parish.

Nancy was passionate about nursing education and healthcare legislation. She was a past president of GVNA (Genesee Valley Nurses Association) and an active member of ANA (American Nurses Association). She was a professor in SUNY Brockport’s nursing program for 30+ years. Nancy, at her heart, was a teacher and a caregiver.

In lieu of flowers, consider donating to causes that Nancy was passionate about such as Doctors Without Borders, public broadcasting, or other organizations that champion healthcare and equality for all people throughout the world.

The family would like to thank the healthcare professionals at Interlakes Oncology led by Dr. Nayana Kamath who guided Nancy and the family through her diagnosis and various treatments.

The following events will be held to honor Nancy’s life and legacy. Nancy’s life story will be shared during her visiting hours, Wednesday, April 29th, 4-7 pm at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane, (Between 390 & Long Pond Rd.). Nancy’s memorial funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 2nd, 1:30 pm, at Spiritus Christi Church, 121 Fitzhugh St. N., Rochester, NY 14614.
