Eulogy & Words of Remembrance for
Patricia A. Purpura
Written by oldest granddaughter ~Kailey
my grandma
was not just soft & gentle
she was powerful
the kind of woman
whose love moved mountains
and still made you feel
as if you were the center of her universe
her hands
built this family
from patience
and love
and laughter that rose
from the center of her being
she was the keeper of secrets
and honorary storyteller
the one who remembered everyone’s favorite treat
she could command a room
not with noise
but with presence
she dressed
as if every day were a celebration
as if being alive
was reason enough
to look your best
and when she smiled
the world softened around her
the air itself lighter, easier to breathe
she loved deeply
and led quietly
a matriarch in custom-made sneakers
a heart stitched from loyalty and grace
four children
ten grandchildren
and one tiny great-granddaughter
who reminded her
how love keeps growing
even after you think your heart is full
today we mourn
but celebrate, too
for she lived 87 years
as a woman of strength
of compassion
of joy
we find peace knowing
she rests beside the love of her life
and those who paved her path
but we also know
her spirit is not gone
it hums in our laughter
it lingers in our kitchens
it echoes in the stories we tell, traditions passed on,
and the love we give
she is the root
and we are the branches
and because of her
we will keep growing
strong
and full of grace
We are sorry for your loss. We are thinking of you. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers –
