  3. I’ll always remember the one school board member who responded to my inquiry regarding the reading program curriculum in the Greece elementary schools back in the 1980s. I wrote a letter (no email or texting back then) to each board member and he was the only one who responded, inviting me to present my case at a board meeting. He was a man of integrity, responsibility, and compassion. May he rest in peace in the arms of his loving Father.

  4. Sending my deepest condolences to Dr John Cannon and Laurie on the passing of your Dad. The notes written about him are angelic . I know he will be in heaven . Many blessings to you and your family . warmly , Barb from the MCH Urology clinic.

  5. Dear Aunt Joan, John, Pam, Kris & families, Uncle Skip was an exceptional man- caring, thoughtful and steady.

I’ll never forget when our Dad was in the hospital for weeks in 1989, and your Dad traveled to Pittsburgh to visit and lend a helping hand. He was so supportive, and remarkably, he offered to stay and help when we were told our Dad would probably be sent home and confined to bed! (As it turned out, our Dad passed in the hospital, but what an incredible offer your Dad made!)
When I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at about age 18, your Dad helped keep me on track. His visits to Pittsburgh, his regular phone calls, and later on the emails we exchanged were very meaningful, and fun, too- especially regarding our family genealogy.
May your loving memories of your Dad stay in your hearts forever.

  6. Joan and Family, Paul was a good friend and mentor to Bill, my husband who died in 2003. Both men were community minded, hard and loyal workers, and faith filled. My sympathy to you all.

  7. John, Pam, Kris and families,

Your dad was a kind, generous, and thoughtful man, and I always looked forward to your family’s visits to Pittsburgh. He had such a genuine interest in others—he asked thoughtful questions about our lives and truly listened to the answers. He carried himself with a firm yet gentle presence that felt deeply fatherly. He will be remembered with great affection.
