Not only did we work together over the years but, I truly counted her as a friend. When asked about retiring, and if one misses “the job”, a common answer is “I dont miss the job ,but I miss the people.” Elsie was one of the people I missed after retiring. Her smile, her always positive attitude, and her dedication to the job and the community we served. Unfotunately, I will not be able to convey my condolences in person as I am out of town. That said,my thoughts and prayers go out to Brian and all of Elsie’s family.

My words cannot fully express the sorrow I feel after learning about Elsie, your beloved wife. May you treasure the wonderful times you and Elsie had for so many years. She made a difference in so many lives, and touched so many hearts throughout her lifetime.
Our sincere condolences to Brian and Family. This is a unexpected loss, and we feel so shocked to have heard about Elsie. We are praying for Brian and Family during this challenging time. God Bless you Elsie and RIP…
Elsie will be greatly missed by all. She was one of the best Public Safety Dispatchers I have ever known. She was a true public safety professional going from dispatcher to police officer and police Sargent. Beyond her professional career she was a great lady.
Brian I remember the night in my office when you told me that you had really fallen for her so hard that you could not believe it. You were a lucky guy to have her even for such a short time.
Rest in peace my friend
To Elsie’s families, what can we say other than Elsie was a “peach” and a gift to the Community nd the world. Our condolences are with the family and friends of this fine woman, Bonnie and Gary Birkahn. RPD Retired.
